Excavation

Excavation must provide for the same thickness of bedding concrete as the floor slab thickness on (minimum of 4 inches) all sides of the channel and should be sloped approximately 0.6% downhill toward the catch basin (the same approximate slope of the PolyDrain System itself). However, the 4 inch minimum concrete depth may not be sufficient according to slab strength design and expansion joint placement. This determination must be made by the concrete design engineer.

Note: If PolyWall Sidewall Extensions are to be used, excavate an additional 7-3/32" (180 mm) for PolyWall 1 and 14-3/16" (360 mm) for PolyWall 2. Excavate an additional 1-3/16" (30 mm) if frames are used.
